Blak29 is the collaboration of Steve Zing and Daniel Tracey. Formed out of a result of being sick and tired of waiting on others, Zing and Tracey decided to write and record by themselves. This proved to be much easier than past projects where there was too much input from other members, turning everything into somewhat of musical masturbation.
As Zing describes it, we started with one song just to see how it would come out and we were both pretty amazed on how easy ideas were bouncing off each other, which led into the full length cd "Love and Anger".
Zing also recruited Danzig bandmate Johnny Kelly for 3 songs, Hades guitarist Dan Lorenzo for some guitars on the 1980 Frida classic, "I Know There's Something Going On" as well as Philadelphia singer/songwriter Leiana to sing side by side on the track.
Zing says that this is not a metal or punk album as some would expect, but considers it a personal tragedy and triumph blend of ideas and emotions that resulted in a combustable cocktail.
Turn up the volume.....more to come!
